More Dreams for Our Community

Here our more of our dreams for our community based on the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who worked to obtain a yield, not for himself, but for the whole African American community.

I have a dream that one day my community will get clean. I have a dream that one day I will get a good job in my clean community. I have a dream that one day we will have a big school for all children to come. I have a dream that one day I will get a good house for all families to take care each other. I have a dream that one day I will become a kind Aboriginal woman.

Dreams for Galiwin’ku

Martin Luther King Jr. gave his famous ‘I have a Dream’ speech 50 years ago.  In Ellemor 8 we have been reading and listening to the speech.

Martin Luther King Jr. worked to obtain a yield for African Americans.

We learned about Martin Luther King Jr.  and his work.  He worked very hard so that all people could be free.  He dreamed of equality for all people, black and white.   We learned how Martin Luther King’s work inspired Aboriginal people in Australia in their fight for equality for Aboriginal Australians.

Here are some of our dreams for our community:

I have a dream that one day my community will be proud.  I have a dream that one day my community will look clean and no one will throw rubbish.

Planting Mulberries

This morning we were planting seeds and also we planted mulberries at the front of the fence.  

When I work with my friends I feel happy and proud and also I was very excited.

Our New Garden

Today we went to the garden for planting seeds with Wendy.

We get the dead Marigold flowers and break them open to get new seeds.

We also planted mulberries so that all of the visitors can eat some mulberries.

Our new Garden will make the school look beautiful!

What’s nearly ready…?

   

    

We have lots of things that growing in the Garden; Thai Pink Egg tomatoes, Tropic tomatoes, Yellow Honey Bee tomatoes, pawpaws, bananas, bok choy, basil, eggplants, Giant Russian cucumbers, mulberries, lots of different beans, arrowroot and capsicums!

It will be school holiday time next week so we won’t be working in the Garden. But we can’t wait to see what is ready when we get back.

My Friend the Chicken

Today I was walking around with my friend, the little chicken called Clare.

She was walking and seeing the bananas.

She can’t reach the bananas, so she was digging for food like seeds and worms.

Planting Mulberries

This morning we were working in our new garden.

We were planting mulberries at the front of Shepherdson College and we watered the mulberries.

It was fun! All the kids were happy and very proud. When they finished planting their mulberries we were excited.

Solving the Problem

The problem is going to be the broken tree and the broken tree is the pawpaw tree.

There were too many pawpaws and it was too heavy!

So  as a solution, we will make a green pawpaw salad!

Classes Working Together

This afternoon we went to Ellemor 7.

We were painting and colouring and also we learnt about how to listen to teachers at Shepherdson College School.
I was feeling happy and I have a fun at school, this is my yield for working hard.
